In this episode of Narcissist Apocalypse, Lara shares the story of her abusive relationship at sea. Lara met her abuser while working on a cruise ship, where she felt seen and chosen by him. Unfortunately, Lara was being mirrored, and the supportive boyfriend quickly became invalidating and manipulative.
It’s a story of being chosen, mirroring, future faking, invalidation, flying monkeys, hoovering, sexual humiliation, love bombing, manipulation disguised as transparency, self esteem, gaslighting, intermittent reinforcement, guilt trips, triangulation, rage, and playing the victim.
